What a difference a few weeks can make! We’re back at this Nashua, NH, property for a late July garden update, and the gardens are filling in beautifully with vibrant foliage, colorful perennials and gorgeous blue hydrangeas. At Greenleaf’s Garden Design, we added 12 blue hydrangeas to the backyard in mid-June, creating a beautiful display of soft blue blooms against the home’s blue-gray siding. The dark mulch provides a striking contrast, allowing the hydrangeas to take center stage.
A Backyard Full of Beautiful Blues
Our client absolutely adores blue, so these hydrangeas were a natural addition! As they mature, they’ll create a continuous display of lush foliage and beautiful summer flowers along the backyard foundation.
Expanding the Fall Shade Garden
We also added extra plants to the shade garden originally installed last fall. The combination of burgundy and purple foliage, silvery-green leaves, delicate flowers and fresh black mulch creates an inviting garden filled with contrasting colors and textures.
The different plant heights and foliage colors give this narrow garden bed depth and visual interest, even when the flowering perennials aren’t in bloom.
Gardens That Get Better with Time
One of the joys of garden maintenance is watching a landscape mature throughout the growing season. From last fall’s shade garden installation to June’s hydrangea additions, this Nashua property continues to evolve with each visit.
