Many perennial and garden plants need soil with good drainage. If your garden site is dry or wet, on a slope or in a raised bed we can create a solution with plants that thrive with those conditions.

Most perennials and shrubs can be planted at any time during the growing season. When planting or transplanting, the crew loves to add a compost soil mix. It helps to regulate soil moisture for strong roots. Perennials and shrubs live in the same spot for many years, so they need a good base of organic matter to sustain them.

Rich likes to design gardens with plants in groups and creates designs that offer flowers throughout the growing season. So ideally there is always a plant in bloom or there are colorful or textural leaves and/or eye-catching seedheads.

The crew covers the soil with a 2- to 3-inch layer of mulch in the choice you like most. Perennials truly thrive with organic mulch, like ground leaves or composted bark mulch.
