Greenleaf’s Garden Design
Some gardens simply need a fresh start, and this Dunstable property was ready for one.
We revitalized seven existing garden beds, each with mostly shade or part-sun conditions. After walking the property with the homeowner, we decided to expand the original vision by incorporating even more shade-loving perennials to create a lush, layered display that will become even more beautiful each season.
To give the gardens the foundation they deserved, we incorporated 10 yards of compost, topped everything with 5 yards of nutrient-rich leaf mulch, and planted nearly 90 perennials. Many of these were healthy “orphan” plants from previous Greenleaf projects that found the perfect forever home here.
At first, the homeowner’s husband wasn’t convinced. Years of battling weeds had left him skeptical that these beds could ever become something special again. But by the second day, as the new plantings transformed the property, his outlook completely changed.
With a huge smile he said, “I’m revitalized. Thank you so much. I’m excited to take care of these gardens now.”
Moments like that remind us why we love what we do. It’s not just about planting flowers—it’s about bringing new life to a property and creating gardens that homeowners can enjoy for years to come.
