This extensive garden in Lowell offered a little bit of everything—shade, part sun, full sun, hills, and flat areas—each space with its own personality and challenges.

Because of that, every section of the property needed a thoughtful approach. Different conditions meant different plant selections, with carefully chosen perennials and shrubs suited to each microclimate.

We began by clearing the way—digging up perennials and shrubs the client no longer wanted, opening the space for a fresh start. From there, we spread a rich layer of compost throughout the gardens, bringing life and vitality back into the soil.

Next came the fun part—installing new plantings and laying out flags to map out future additions, giving the garden a clear vision that will continue to grow over time.

To finish, we blanketed the beds with 2–3 inches of luscious leaf mulch, locking in moisture, feeding the soil, and giving the entire landscape a clean, finished look.

A property like this is never just one garden—it’s a collection of unique spaces, each designed to thrive in its own way.
