Sometimes a small garden can make a BIG statement!
This unique Hudson, NH garden is now in year two, and it has quickly become one of my top five all-time favorite gardens.
When we first started, the client told me she wanted an intense garden in a tiny space. I said, “Yes, I can do that!”
Greenleaf’s Garden Design turned the area into what I like to call a research garden—a place where I can introduce nifty, new and exciting perennials that I haven’t fully tested yet. The goal was to pack this smaller space with unusual plants, contrasting foliage and lots of changing color.
And it worked out perfectly!
Every time I stopped by, the client greeted me with a big smile and an update on how all the plants were doing. This spring, I brought in a few more interesting perennials to replace some varieties that proved to be less winter hardy.
Now look at it! The bright red flowers, soft pink astilbe, yellow daylilies and all the different foliage colors create an incredible amount of interest in a relatively small garden.
Small space. Lots of plants. Tons of personality.
This is exactly why this little Hudson garden has become one of my favorites!
