This beautiful purple-themed garden in Amherst is one we always look forward to visiting each spring.

During our mid-May maintenance visit, we noticed that several of the lavender plants had struggled through the winter. Rather than simply replacing them with more lavender, we decided to surprise our client by installing three beautiful Catmint plants at no charge.

Catmint offers everything we love in a perennial—it produces months of vibrant lavender-blue blooms, attracts bees and butterflies, and is far more reliable through New England winters. As it matures, it creates a soft, flowing look that perfectly complements the existing peonies, Japanese maple, and surrounding perennials.

At Greenleaf’s Garden Design, we believe that maintaining a garden isn’t just about weeding and mulching. It’s about continually improving the landscape, making thoughtful plant selections, and ensuring every garden becomes more beautiful with each passing season.

Sometimes the smallest gesture—like replacing a few plants with an even better choice—makes the biggest difference. Our Amherst client now has a garden that will provide richer color, longer bloom time, and years of enjoyment. 🌸💜
