The original client has since moved to Florida, but the garden lives on—and now the tenants get to enjoy all the color and character that has developed over the years.

For this season’s maintenance, Greenleaf’s Garden Design added 2 yards of compost followed by 3 yards of leaf mulch to enrich the soil and freshen up the beds. Of course, we also spread Osmocote fertilizer and tucked in about six new perennials to add even more variety.

And WOW, look at it now!

The shrubs provide the structure and anchor the garden, while layers of colorful foliage, ornamental grasses and blooming perennials fill in around them. By early July, the entire front of the property is vibrating with color and texture.

It’s especially rewarding to see one of my earlier gardens mature like this. Gardens are never really finished—they keep growing, changing and getting more interesting every year!
