Five Towering Arborvitaes and a Little Dr. Seuss Magic!
Sometimes the biggest garden transformations come from planting just a handful of trees!
Our latest project brought the Greenleaf’s Garden Design crew to Nashua, NH, where we installed five beautiful arborvitaes, each standing an impressive 10 to 12 feet tall.
These weren’t your ordinary little shrubs! With their tall, narrow, slightly whimsical shapes, they reminded me of something straight out of a Dr. Seuss story. Each tree had its own personality, and together they were going to make quite a statement along the backyard’s white vinyl fence.
Of course, getting them into the ground was another story!
With five gentlemen on the crew, we rolled up our sleeves and started digging. And wouldn’t you know it, we encountered plenty of stubborn roots and rocks along the way! Every hole seemed to present another challenge, but we kept at it. No shortcuts, just good old-fashioned digging and determination!
Six Hours Later… What a Difference!
All five arborvitaes were standing tall, perfectly positioned along the fence, with a beautiful freshly mulched bed tying everything together.
The transformation was remarkable! The once-open fence line now had a wonderful combination of height, greenery, and natural character. As these evergreens continue to establish themselves, they’ll provide an attractive year-round privacy screen.
There’s something especially rewarding about stepping back after a long day, looking at those towering trees, and knowing that every shovel full of soil was worth the effort.
Six hours, five hardworking crew members, a few stubborn roots and rocks, and five towering arborvitaes later, this Nashua backyard had a whole new look!
