Greenleaf’s Garden Design

This marks year three caring for this Townsend property, where multiple garden beds surround the home and continue to evolve each season.

This spring, we began by clearing out the winter buildup—blowing out leaves, edging the beds, and applying fresh mulch to bring everything back into clean, defined shape. In total, we removed and redistributed 9 yards of leaves, with one crew member dedicating a full day to carefully restore the gardens. The result was a refreshed landscape the client truly loved.

🍂 Natural Mulch, Better Soil

Rather than waste the leftover material, we’re putting 2 yards of leaf mulch to good use. This blend of leaves and horse shavings will be used to revitalize a shaded garden bed in the coming weeks.

It’s a method our clients have really embraced—about half are now using this natural approach. Over time, it breaks down into rich compost, improving soil health far beyond what traditional bark mulch can offer.

🌱 What’s Next

The refreshed shade garden will soon be planted with 50 perennials, building on this sustainable foundation and continuing the evolution of this property.

Simple maintenance, done right, creates healthier gardens year after year—and this Townsend property is a great example of that.
